Project Getaway
A downloadable game
This is an Unreal Engine 5 Multiplayer Game that I worked on during my internship @LogicSimplified. I programmed the entire core gameplay loop as well as weapon systems, traps, and interactables. I assisted in the art direction and design of the environment and some characters( new characters not implemented in the gameplay videos). The game starts off with 6-10 players on the outside of a maze that they have to solve the maze at the same time and get to the center where there is a beacon. Once any player grabs the beacon for the first time a timer starts, the players have to try and steal the beacon from the player. The person holding the beacon when the timer ends wins the game.
The game consists of an attack/health system as well where you can pick up weapons and projectiles to hit the other players with. Once your health is zero you respawn and drop the beacon if you were holding it.
There also exists a minimap. And a zone mechanic- basically a boundary that keeps getting smaller and smaller where if you step out of the zone your health will slowly decrease. This is to ensure that players are constantly interacting and intensity is always increasing.
Throughout the maze, there also exist traps- swing blades, mud, spike wall, etc. that the players also have to be wary of.
